A moon circle is a small group of women who meet at the new moon or the full moon. The circles I hold follow the same five parts each time.
- A theme for the month, taken from the moon’s position.
- A guided meditation on that theme.
- Breath practice.
- A simple ritual.
- A round of sharing.
The theme
Each circle starts from the moon: which sign it is in, and whether it is new or full. I use that to choose a theme for the evening and explain it briefly. You don’t need to know anything about astrology to follow it.
Meditation and breath
Then a guided meditation on the theme, and a few minutes of breath practice. Both are simple, and I explain them before we start.
The ritual
The ritual is small and practical, for example writing something down or speaking an intention out loud. Nobody is asked to believe in anything.
Sharing
The circle ends with a round in which each woman can speak about what came up, without being interrupted or advised. Passing is always fine.
I hold a monthly women’s circle and circles at the new and the full moon. If you run a women’s space or a retreat and would like a circle there, write to me.
